Wood Yew Waste are pleased to announce that from 8th June 2009 we are opening a plasterboard recycling facility based at our site in Greendale Business Park, Woodbury Salterton, Exeter.
For construction, demolition and drylining contractors recycling plasterboard waste means less costs, as we always offer plasterboard recycling at a price below the cost of disposal at landfills.
Plasterboard is only allowed to be disposed of in special designated landfill sites as it comprises 95% gypsum and the major constituents of gypsum are calcium (23%) and sulphate (21%). The sulphate content of gypsum mixed with biodegradable municipal waste in a landfill can break down to form hydrogen sulphide, which has a long term negative impact upon the leachate generated within the landfill and can cause odour problems for people close to landfills.

Acceptable Plasterboard Waste Types / Materials:
- Waste from rebuilds
- Waste from demolitions
- New construction waste
- Production scrap
- Gypsum blocks
- Virgin gypsum board cut-offs
- Complete boards or broken parts
- Gypsum ceilings, floors, walls etc.
- Insulated or melamine surface board.
- Plastic, glass, metal, cardboard, brick, concrete, soils.
